BUILDING SUSPENSE AND CLIMAX

Creating or building suspense and climax determines how good you, as the writer, are able to withhold the information from the reader.

You must be able to hold back certain information to create a sense of anticipation in the reader.

You should only reveal information at different stages where they can give the plot the best impact.

In addition, you should also make sure that the story flows well when the information is revealed.

Five steps in creating suspense and building climax:

Step 1 - Setting the mood
Step 2 - Creating the suspense
Step 3 - Escalating the suspense
Step 4 - Climax Step
Step 5 - Releasing the tension

There is no fixed order to build suspense and climax, but you, as the writer, must know how you want the story to be before creating it.
